Crime Statistics

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) compiles yearly reports on the rate of crime in Kentucky. In 2018, Henderson County had a total number of 1,917 crimes reported, including 808 violent crimes and 1,109 property crimes. Violent crimes reported include 9 murders, 61 rapes, 35 robberies, and 703 aggravated assaults. Property crimes reported include 200 burglaries, 797 larcenies, 109 motor vehicle thefts, and 3 arsons.

The 2018 crime statistics reveal a decline in the total crime rate of the county over a 5-year period. Between 2014 and 2018, there was a decline in 5 out of 8 major crimes. Murder, rape, robbery, motor vehicle theft, and arson rates increased by 200%, 20%, 169%, 51%, and 300%. Henderson County aggravated assault, burglary, and larceny rates increased by 10%, 42%, and 23% respectively.

What are Henderson County Criminal Records?

Henderson County criminal records are public records that can be obtained by members of the public. How Do I Get Henderson County Criminal Records?

The KSP provides name-based and fingerprint-based criminal background checks. Any person can carry out name-based checks once the authorization of the record’s subject is obtained. The fingerprint-based checks can only be conducted by the record’s subject and statutorily authorized bodies and agencies.

Name-based checks can be done only by mail, by filling out the appropriate application form:

  • Request For Conviction Records/Housing

Name-based checks cost $20 per request. They can be paid for through money order, or check. To carry out a fingerprint-based check visit the Changes to Fingerprint Check and use any of the available and accessible means provided.

The AOC also provides access to criminal background checks to the public. Each check varies in cost between $20-25. Requests for criminal background checks can be done online, via mail, or in person. Online requests can be made through either of the two online portals maintained by the AOC for criminal background checks. They are AOCFastCheck and One-Time Request.

The service provided by the AOC can be paid for with credit cards (particularly American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover), most debit cards, checks and money orders made payable to the Kentucky State Treasurer.

How To Find Henderson County Sex Offender Information

The KSP, through the sex offender registry, provides the public with access to sex information in the state. The registry can be searched by Henderson County residents with the sex offender’s number, name, street address, city, county, or ZIP code. To locate multiple sex offenders in the neighborhood, the Neighborhood Map can also be used by residents. It identifies sex offenders in a particular area by using the street address, city, ZIP code, radius, or county.
