Spencer County Information

Spencer County is situated in the state of Kentucky. There were 19,490 occupants in Spencer County in 2020. The current county seat is Taylorsville.

It was founded in 1824.

It was named for Spier Spencer. He was an Indiana militia officer who commanded a company of mounted riflemen known as the Yellow Jackets at the Battle of Tippecanoe.
