Criminal Statistics

According to the 2017 Crime in the US Report published by the Criminal Justice Information Services Division, incidences of larceny-theft and burglary were recorded to be the most recurring index crimes in Warren County, accounting for 52% and 32% of the reported index crimes respectively. Violent crimes were generally unpopular as per the data, with reports of aggravated assault barely scratching the 3% mark while only 13, 1 and 6 reported incidents of rape, homicide and robbery were recorded. With motor vehicle theft and arson constituting 8.4% of the reported index crimes, property crimes were concluded to be the more popular crime subset in the county.

Criminal Records

Warren County criminal records can be obtained from the Kentucky State Police Department, which serves as the statewide repository for criminal history information. While the Warren County Sheriff's Office remains the primary law enforcement agency of the county, the office does not process requests for statewide criminal records. However, the Sheriffs Office offers fingerprinting services for a variety of purposes including licensing or local adoptions.

How to Get Criminal Records

The Kentucky State Police maintains records of statewide misdemeanor and felony arrests, as well as charges and convictions and pending dispositions. These are all included in criminal records disseminated by the Department, depending on the authority of the requestor.

Requestors requiring name-based criminal record checks are entitled to some-what limited information which will only include all open records available for the subject. Name-based requests may be made by completing the applicable Background Check Form which must be submitted along with a cheque or money order payment of $20 to:

On the other hand, fingerprint-based check requests entitle the requestor to all criminal information of the subject including closed records. To request this, the requesting party must have statutory requirements including an ORI number. All fingerprint criminal record requests are made through the agency requesting the background check.

How to Find Sex Offender Information

The Kentucky Sex Offender Registry is maintained by the state police department and houses all information regarding sex offenders resident in Warren County. Interested persons may view offender location, compliance status, and criminal histories by searching the registry by the name, street address, city, county or zip code of the offender. The registry also includes a Neighborhood Map Feature which allows county residents to view offenders within a specific mile radius of selected vicinities. Additionally, the police department operates a sex offender alert line that provides real-time information regarding the arrival of registered offenders into the county. The Warren County Regional Jail serves as the residence for persons incarcerated within county limits. The facility is located at:

As per state laws, the facility has strict guidelines regarding inmate visitation. In light of this, visitors are required to schedule an appointment on any of the allotted visitation days and arrive at the facility with a government-issued ID for identity confirmation.

Where and How to Get Inmate Information

Information regarding Warren County Jail detainees is maintained on the County Inmate Roster which is available for public viewing. Details of inmate arrest, booking, primary charges, bail and bond conditions, and pending court dates can be obtained on the Roster. Records of court cases heard by the Warren County Circuit Court are maintained and disseminated by the office of the Circuit Court Clerk. Interested persons may obtain copies of these records by querying the Clerk's Office in person or via mail. The requesting party will be required to provide information regarding the record of interest including the names of the plaintiff, defendant and litigant, the date of filing and the case file number of the record (if known). The office of the Warren County Clerk is tasked with recording and maintaining documents pertaining to real property and land ownership in the county. Vital Records

The Kentucky Cabinet of Health and Family Services serves as the central repository for records of vital events that occurred within the state. The office processes requests for marriage, divorce, birth and death records of Warren County. At the county level, the Warren County Clerk office processes requests for marriage records, while the Circuit Court Clerk disseminates divorce records. However, all birth and death record requests are directed to the state office.

Where and How to get Marriage Records

The office of the Warren County Clerk is charged with issuing marriage licenses alongside maintaining documents pertaining to property ownership. The office retains and issues records of marriages that were licensed by its office. To obtain a marriage record copy, interested persons may query the office via mail or in person. The requestor must provide details of the marriage including the full names of the spouses (including their maiden names), the date and place of marriage and the date the license was issued as well as the marriage certificate number (if known). The Vital Statistics Branch of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services processes requests for records of births and deaths which occurred within Warren County.

To request either of these records, the requesting party must be capable of proving tangible interest in order to meet the eligibility requirements.
